Aldo’s

The name was inspired by a wine themed painting, “An evening at The Ritz” by post impressionist artist Aldo Luango.

Our table had a view of the sky train turning the corner gliding through the trees at the intersection of Sathorn Road and Narathiwat Rachanakarin Road. A pre-dinner glass of beautifully fresh St Clemence, Vicar’s Choice Sauvignon Blanc was served.

To start delicious perfectly cooked ‘foie gras on a bed of kiwi fruit and poached strawberry’, it melted in the mouth. Jaruwan Kaset, the wine bar supervisor paired it with a Moletto Pinot Grigio that worked well.

A party of three, each ordering different meats of ‘trout’, ‘sea bass’ and ‘lamb’ posed a challenge with wine pairing, however, the recommendation of Bundies Patch Shiraz worked equally well with all three dishes.

For dessert ‘green apple crème brulee’ and the great flavour combination of ‘fig and ginger ice-cream’. This was a delightfully balanced dining experience.
