La Gritta
The restaurant is homey with bright colors despite
its trendy décor and airy layout. You can take your pick from an
extensive menu that brings together modern-day dishes from across Italy.
Chef Francesco Greco, was brought up in Sardinia in
the presence of passion for gourmet cuisine strongly engrained in his
heritage. Moreover, his creative flair and an edge for quality have seen
him cooking professionally for over twenty years.
My dining companions and I enjoyed a Cantine Da
Melini 2006. We commenced our meal with ‘lobster salad with avocado and
tomato tartar’; ‘traditional Caprese salad made of buffalo mozzarella
enriched with capers, pesto and anchovies’; as well as ‘sautéed fresh
spinach with Parmesan cheese’. The special of the month, ‘pan fried sole
fillet risotto with sage and fresh spinach’ was served plus we took
pleasure in the ‘braised veal shank with risotto Milanese style’. Keep
space for some dessert; the ‘tiramisu’ was a nice finish.
To savor in Italian cuisine whilst enjoying the
warm hospitality of the chef and his team, head over to La Gritta.
