Le Danang
The street entrance of Le Danang is reminiscent of
a Vietnamese Music Hall of the 1950’s. Delightfully old fashioned in a
way that works, waiters are in evening dresses even whilst serving lunch
and a pianist can be found singing at the piano.
To start, Vietnamese Chef Mai fresh ‘smoked salmon
roll’ using lettuce as the wrapper, a very fresh taste to wake up the
palate as well as her ‘avocado salad with crab meat and aromatic herbs’.
The ‘grilled snow fish with tamarind sauce’ perfectly cooked, soft,
tasty and tender. For her ‘duck breast fillet’, ‘foie gras marinated
with lemon grass and ginger sauce’, Chef Mai has taken a classic
Vietnamese recipe, and given it her unique twist. For dessert, banana
fritters that contrasted nicely with vanilla ice cream, and Vietnamese
coffee was served.
A Chilean Santa Alicia Chardonnay paired nicely
with the meal.
This is a pleasant quality Vietnamese dining
experience.
