New York Steak House
Very masculine with black leather armchairs
reminiscent of a private gentlemen’s club, black & white photos of the
big apple on the walls and the waitresses immaculate in black each hand
picked for the commitment to customer service.
They have some of Bangkok’s best Martinis, guests
were asked their preferred gin, and individually shaken and poured at
the table. Four breads baked together and two different butters were
served. To start their signature Caesar salad prepared at the table in
an oversized wooden bowl, luxurious lobster bisque and for the brave
‘steak tartar’, essentially raw beef mixed with seasonings at the table,
served on Melba toast. They serve the option of US Angus or Australian
beefs we tasted tenderloin with black pepper sauce; a filet mignon with
a red wine sauce and slice of prime rib, all very generous portions
perfectly cooked. For dessert ‘‘Chocolate soufflé’ that needs to be
ordered 30 minutes in advance; crème brulee is light with a perfect
burnt sugar topping and a three milk sponge pudding, a perfect meal.
