Rang Mahal

Located on the top floor of the Rembrandt Hotel, this is the traditional fine dining Indian restaurant of Bangkok.

To start ‘Tandoori jumbo prawns’ marinated in exotic Indian spices and the house speciality, ‘Raan-e-Khyber’, tender marinated lamb leg barbequed on charcoal.

Then ‘Murgh Khada Masala’, chicken tempered with onions, tomatoes and whole spices and ‘Rogan Josh Kashmiri’, pot roasted mutton cooked with a thick gravy plus select Indian spices with a pleasing element of ginger was presented.

‘Hyderabadi Mutton Biriyani’ originally cooked on “dum”, spiced and layered with basmati rice and sprinkled with fresh herbs and saffron had an exotic taste. Our waiter placed a tablespoon of each dish on the plate at a time, carefully spacing them so that the individual tastes remained separate and did not intermingle.

With the meal we enjoyed a bottle of Chilean Merlot that worked well with the Indian spices. The ‘Kulfi Falooda’, delicious saffron flavoured ice cream was served with Indian glass noodles.

The food, presentation and setting are flawless with a traditional touch to the dining experience.
