Saffron
Located on 51st and 52nd floors of Banyan Tree
Bangkok, Safforn offers Thai-inspired authentic flavours with a modern
twist and international style presentation. Its Latitude lounge and bar,
the sky deck on 51st floor offers al fresco dining and refuge for the
recently ostracized smoking community. The style is a understated
contemporary Asian design, dark wood tables with cracked glass tops.
Highly attentive service from well trained staff,
explaining each dish as they placed it on the table and equally quick to
clear as the course is over. As of this month, Chef Tammarsak added
‘prawns on a lemon glass skewer wrapped in deep fried noodles’. An
‘eggplant salad with crab meat’ that has a subtle flavour on the palate
that leaves an assertive tang in the after taste. The ‘steamed snow fish
in lime sauce’ has tender thick slices with a subtly balanced citrus
flavour. The tender ‘grilled chicken’ was first marinated then brushed
with a curry sauce while cooking. To finish, the ‘coconut crème brulee’
had a good taste with an excellent burnt sugar top.
