Saxophone
Established in 1987, Saxophone is now in its 22nd
year of being the family feeling home of Jazz and Blues in Bangkok,
attracting both a faithful Thai and foreigner clientele. Set on two
levels with the stage downstairs and different styles of seating
upstairs. Daily live music is provided with no cover charge. In
principle the line up is two bands a night playing jazz Monday through
to Wednesday. The Thursday to Sunday three Blues bands play every night.
In other clubs bands change every three months, here once they have been
accepted stay because the feel at home, The Arnon’s Jazz Band has been
playing there for the past 15 years and Bangkok Connection and T-Bone
Band both for the past 10 years. The music is played full throttle, you
don’t just hear it but can feel it vibrate through the body.
The décor
is eclectic with old musical instruments mounted on the wall and varied
collection of contemporary and abstract art. The menu offers a
combination is Thai and western food and over 100 cocktails including
their appropriate blue coloured Saxophone Dropper.
