Spasso
Around 10pm, the dining takes a back seat and live
music winds up amid Spasso’s adaptation of its second identity as a club;
snacks are served until 1 am.
The live bands change every 3-4 months; playing
until 24th May are the 7 piece Scarlip Band founded by George “Scarlip”
Elchakieh, one of the hottest bands currently playing on the five star
hotel circuit. While studying at Concordia University in Montreal, he
met drummer Marc who is the heartbeat of the band; guitarist/vocalist
Mike and vocalist Lesley Anne from Toronto, who studied in Montreal. Add
to them Greg, the keyboard player, programmer and vocalist who adds the
spice of the Caribbean; Blue a passionate bass man at heart and Lilonnie,
the newest member of the band to complete the line up. They play
everything from Thai, Arabic & Spanish songs to top 40's plus have a
wide range in their repertoire.
For anyone
not dining in the restaurant, there is a cover charge of Baht 700 as
it’s a popular meeting place with the crowd range from 20-60 years old.
