Thien Duong
Located on the Mezzanine floor of The Dusit Thani,
the view looks out onto the inner garden. White linen table cloths are
in stark contrast to the black tableware, stems of the glass and handles
of the silver chopsticks. Combined with the classic Asian décor the
restaurant is elegant.
The menu covers dishes from the three major
culinary regions of Vietnam, giving a balanced choice. We started with
‘deep fried minced prawns on a sugar cane skewer’, followed by ‘steamed
Vietnamese ravioli with minced pork and shrimp topped with fried garlic’
that had a pleasant subtle flavour. The third appetizer was fresh
Vietnamese spring rolls stuffed with soft shell crab that had a fresh
lemon flavour.
The plates were frequently changed during the meal.
For our main course, we were served ‘grilled pork balls served in
lettuce leaves layered with sheets of fresh rice noodle to self wrap the
pork balls.
With the meal we enjoyed a bottle of Dusit
Californian Chardonnay.
