Get grilled at the Shack

Get grilled at the Shack

Imagine flame grilled steaks, chicken breasts, pork chops and a variety of other grilled meat skewers, ad two spoons of the best jazz & blues tunes and mix these ingredients with the ever friendly and entertaining personality of the owner Larry and you'll be assured for a great night dinning at "The Shack". It's one of these places which is difficult to walk by, because of the aroma coming from the grill at the right-hand side of the entrance, literally 1 metre from the street. Most people actually stop to watch the chef grilling his steaks, but realize in seconds after, that as soon as the nose gets tickled the stomach shouts:"Get in there and fill me up!"

Once you walk in, one of the first things you will notice is the collection of framed photos and posters from all the great blues and jazz musicians. Yes indeed, owner Larry is a big music lover and in specific a huge blues and jazz fan. His theory is that the blues and jazz makes you hungry and it is a pleasant companion while you’re eating. Dexter Gordon, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Robert Johnson and John Coltrane, just a few of the great ones who will lead you through your evening of Grill pleasure! Walking up to the bar in the back you will pass on your right hand side the Shack Cellar. Apart from the fact that it contains an extensive wines of the world collection and it is air-conditioned to chill the wines to the right temperature, it is made from wood and scrap metal originating from the 'real shack' which used to have its place on the location where The Shack is now. An obvious choice for Larry to give his place this name. Another thing you can’t miss is Larry himself, a perfect host with the energy of a turbo engine who is always on hand for a chat and a joke. The recently expanded menu, to name a few, offers dishes like Bacon Wrapped Prawns in Pernod Sauce, Butter Garlic Prawns, Alaskan King Crab Legs, Jumbo Alaskan Sea Scallops, Australian Monster T-Bone steak, New Zealand Lamb Chops and The Shack House Special. And all their steaks are Australian prime Angus / Herferd grain fed aged beef, flown in air-chilled, not frozen. If you still have room for a dessert Hot apple pie with ice cream & berries or Almost New York cheesecake are two of the many options to finish this feast. Getting hungry? I thought so! So get grilled and make your way down to The Shack. To ensure a table, certainly if you are coming with a big group, please call 08 7264 6994 or 0 7724 6041. Enjoy!
