Koh Samui Watersports

Koh Samui is a water sports paradise with the base ingredients of sea, sun, sand and surf. There are many activities that you can participate in such as jet skiing, paragliding or banana boat riding but most people find that any power craft operating close to the shore is invasive and dangerous.

So what to do instead?
Well, why not flex a little muscle, get a little exercise and get into a kayak, try your hand on windsurfing or jump on one of the many catamarans or sailing boats for the day or days to explore Samui's hidden coves and bays.

In May the annual Samui Regatta will be held and one can expect to see some exciting competition across the length of breadth of Chaweng Beach. With an international field of yachts this event surely is the biggest of its kind in the Gulf of Thailand. But the Samui Regatta is not just about the sailing, it's also about the parties and the legendary island cuisine and hospitality, with many of the local restaurants and resorts joining in as sponsors and vying to throw the best regatta party.
