Rotary Club of Koh Samui
Rotary Club of Koh Samui gives away 2008 motorbike and raises money for children’s charity at the same time.
The Rotary Club held a fund raising drive during the month of November 2007 in the form of a motorbike raffle. Between 1 November and 1 December 840 raffle tickets were sold at 100 Baht each. The drawing was made on 1 December at the Club's annual Holiday Dinner/Dance which was held at the Fairhouse Hotel, Chaweng.
Before a gathering of almost 60 people Rotary President Adele Smith stirred the barrel of raffle tickets before Khun Ponlert Ooncharoen of the Tourism Authority of Thailand drew the winning number. The lucky ticket holder was Khun Chom Klangburi, General Manager of the Fairhouse Hotel who purchased his ticket on the afternoon of 1 December at the Fairhouse Hotel. He purchased five (5) tickets, one of which was number 0017, the winning number. He was the proud winner of a 2008 Yamaha Fino with 1 year insurance & registration paid by Rotary. The prize is valued in excess of 50,000 Baht.
This project was possible through a generous donation by Mr. Mike Langaskens of Profmil Co. Ltd. who purchased the motorbike and donated it to the Rotary Club for this fund raiser. The Rotary Club raised 84,000 Baht which will be used for children’s charity on Koh Samui.
