Out For A Beer: Pattaya

It's nice to see the Land of Smiles settle back into relative normalcy after all the excitement of September. The "quiet" coup hasn't seemed to scare away many tourists, with the watering holes of the South Pattaya Walking Street especially crowded in the run up to high season. Although the variety of bars willing to entertain anyone with the resources to do so are as varied as the many people who come on holiday here, South Pattaya and Walking Street in particular will continue to be the area of choice for most because of familiarity and popularity.

On Walking Street, there are so many choices that sometimes I see people standing on the side of the road confused and looking overwhelmed. Some of our favorite picks are those certainly who are advertising in the book and we would be remiss if we didn't mention them every chance we can. I figure if they are willing to spend money to advertise who they are, they will usually work extra hard in making sure you are very happy when you get there. There are several Go-Go's in the Walking Street area that fall into this category and I would highly recommend them as first stops before you venture anywhere else in town.

Living Doll Showcase, (not to be confused with Living Dolls) advertise in this book and I've yet to hear anyone complain about the choice of women available here. The same is true of The Dollhouse which has years of history and reputation to maintain. If there is a problem of any kind, you can be sure that there will be a Foreign Manager making sure that you are comfortable with a remedy. As things start to get busy in this area, it's not uncommon for Walking Street Owners to see a variety of intoxicated and belligerent people coming from all walks of life. Keep in mind that those who smile and are courteous to the staff are always the ones who make out the best in this town.

Other real winners in The Walking Street, Tiger & Shark Entertainment Complex on the top floor of Soi Diamond. I have had many a wonderful night in these well run establishments and you will usually find drink specials, happy hours and discounts as well as very friendly women to be the norm here. Another very interesting place in this same area is on Soi Diamond on the floor, right side as you walk in.

Naughty Girls has always been a kind of best kept secret in the Walking Street area and has always had a steady stream of Ex-Pats who are in "the know" as steady customers. If you really want to know the best places in any town, watch the people who live here. Naughty Girls is now run by two guys who bring a slightly different "mentality" to the table in terms of running a Go-Go. Excellent ambience and music that is mixed at the right volume level make this one of my favorites.

Moving just inland a bit but still in the South Pattaya area is a small place that usually only regulars know about. Lion Pub on Soi 17 is a comfortable air conditioned Club that has a great selection of some of the most beautiful hotties this side of Issan and is one of those places that many people find refuge from the hustle and bustle of the busier places in Pattaya.

Outside of the Waking Street area and moving towards Central Pattaya, there is a new bar which is trying something that I believe is a first in Pattaya. CJ's Bar is located on Soi Chaiyapoon off of Third Road or off of Soi Buakhao depending on which direction you are coming from. Portfolios of girls who are employed as well as those who are working as Freelancers available 24 hours as "Tour Companions" are available here. They have an Advert in this book for more information.

On several occasions we have received e-mails from women who have come with their families and want to know where to go for a "normal" good time. Here is a list of what I consider the best:

  1. Shenanigans – located on Second Road. Great food, ambience and live music.
  2. Rolling Stone Bar – Walking Street. Soi 16. Great seating to do Walking Street people watching.
  3. Easy Riders – Second Road. Good live music.
  4. Blues Factory – Walking Street – Excellent music and staff.
Well, it looks as if we have run out of space this month already...
