An Experience Beyond Ordinary
Many will say that regardless of whether you live here or are here on holiday, Pattaya has much to offer in terms of first time experiences. Night life, activities and even culinary pleasures come in all shapes and sizes making days and nights in Pattaya always something to remember. One such experience we just had to write about this month is the newly opened Oriental Star and Oriental Moon boats moored just a rocks throw away from The Bali Hai Pier.
Of course you would need quite a baseball arm to throw a rock or baseball that far but I'm sure you get the idea. The Oriental Group are a very well placed group of business people who have been revolutionizing the experience of boat dining. They have been successfully operating the Dolphin Seafood Restaurant and Oriental Princess that caters to primarily the Asian market but now have opened the Oriental Star and Moon for the pleasures of both us Farang and our Thai counterparts. In addition the whole process of getting to the boat has been made easier by the fact that the Bali Hai Pier has plenty of parking and is very easy to get to.
Once there at the Pier, a friendly Driver will give you a short courtesy ride to a speed boat that will take you to the Oriental Star. This amazingly beautiful boat is noted as having the only seafood market of its kind in Thailand. You can opt to eat in beautiful downstairs banquet areas or upstairs where you can enjoy not just opened aired dining but great entertainment.
There is no cover charge whatsoever to get on the boat and the dining menu is presented in no less than five languages accompanied by photos of all of their dishes. One of the things both me and my guest were pleasantly surprised about was the fact that not only was the food out of this world but the prices were cheaper than most of the food you might find on Walking Street or in the city. This is just the beginning.
You also have the option of choosing your food in their must see Seafood Market, having it cut exactly the way you want it and then have it brought over to the Oriental Moon. Up on deck, you and your Guest (s) can enjoy a cocktail or good bottle of wine while the boat slowly cruises around Pattaya.
When you're ready, you are escorted to your table where you are supplied all of the necessary ingredients to cook your meal Ichiban Style right in the center of your table with their one of a kind charcoal, smokeless system! Oh, did I mention their rooms are air conditioned. The Oriental Moon, moored right next to The Star leaves on the cruise twice a night. No charge for the cruise and the fresh Seafood and Steak Market prices are more than affordable.
A culinary and entertainment experience everyone must enjoy while in Pattaya.
