Taking a Walk on The Wild Side
To say Pattaya is one of the world's hottest, wildest entertainment centers would be considered an understatement if you did a deliberate itinerary as the ofab's did just recently. Actually, when deciding what kind of night to have, we simply looked inside this handy little book and realized that if we just stuck with a few of the places based on Walking Street, we would certainly cover the title theme quite thoroughly.
We decided to start close to the far end of Walking Street, close to Convent Garden. Inside Soi 16 is a wonderful place called Taboo. Owned and operated by two gregarious Englishman, I once “cut my chops” inside this place when I helped them out doing a photo shoot. I had one very fun experience to say the least. One of the hardest things about Taboo is wanting to leave.
Comfortable, intimate and dark a lot of energy was put into the design but the place doesn't give you the feeling of getting lost. Attentive, hot looking staff, make this place a personal favourite. If I say that again throughout this column please don't hold it against me. Moving along further into Walking Street, you'll find two places relatively close in proximity. Owned by the same group Living Dolls Showcase, not to be confused with Living Dolls and Dollhouse. The thing that you need to know about these two places is that they are managed and owned by the same person.
Although he tends to keep himself in a low profile stand to the public for anyone that knows him he is a shaker and mover in the industry. I mention this because in my opinion this is what sets his businesses apart from most others on Walking Street. He knows exactly what perverted guys really enjoy. Wild nightly shows, excellent and reasonable drinks in both Showcase and Dollhouse, over 150 women combined, Mamasans that are well trained and who know how to train the many new women that start their careers there, well you've got the jist of it. Some people would say that you really haven't done Pattaya until you've done Living Dolls Showcase and Dollhouse. Check out their web sites as well.
By this time both me and my volunteer OFAB Staff were starting to find it a bit difficult to walk and the night had several more destinations to check out. On the left side continuing our journey is Polo and Le Galaxy. Both of these places are easy to find as you can always see a crowd of people standing outside watching the Russian Dancers in the “fishbowl” upstairs as well as some absolutely stunning women at the top of the stairs. Polo attracts many people who like to see well choreographed shows and both of these venues much like the previously mentioned are owned and managed by someone who has been in the business for quite a few years.
Polo gets busy fast but we still managed to find ourselves a nice position to see the shows. If you enjoy very young women, (well they all seem young to me now) then Polo is the place. I have friends who have taken women from Polo and were not disappointed. Le Galaxy directly across from Polo is very, very unique. The interior of the place is something worth checking out even without their main selling point, beautiful Russian women. When you have been living in Thailand as long as I have, it's nice every so often to see beautiful white skin. The women were quite friendly I must say and although you may pay a few more Baht for a drink than you would somewhere else you could certainly consider this a premium style club and one worth checking out, even if you think you came here only for Thai women and their entertainment.
We couldn't continue our Walking Street jaunt without checking out Robert and Danny over at Naughty Girls. Just check out the photo on the advert and time it by two as I saw even more smiling faces than the last time I was there. I always feel welcome in Naught Girls, actually more like a Super Star the way the girls treat me here. At my age that's always a good thing? Stop on by and say hello.
We ended our night backtracking just a little bit and visited the Blues Factory. I would say that in terms of live entertainment Blues Factory is the absolute best. It's a great place to bring a girl and although I decided to go solo several of my inebriated OFAB's had managed to convince a few girls along the way to do some late night partying. By this time I had slowed down from my Johnnie Walkers and was nursing Dutch amber. Blues Factory was a great way to end our adventure and a great place to go "Out For A Beer".
