The Road Less Traveled
By Pattaya Pete
Well, hat's off to everyone here in Pattaya, as we've made it through another year. The world is still in the game with the domnesday clock I believe somewhere around 9 minutes to the hour, which comparatively speaking is not all that bad considering we were at the same point back in the late 60's during the Cold War.
In terms of our local experience, there seems to be major change happening here in Pattaya on a daily basis. My friends who are still living in their home countries tell me that the major difference in their lives and my own is the fact that life in Europe or the States pretty much remains the same on a day to day basis whereas our lives here are always changing. At least that's the excuse they use for not writing e-mails to me as often as I would like, they say there's simply not much to talk about. I do get the occasional jokes etc. but few personal words about what is actually going on in their lives.
Speaking of change, this column will be changing its name and perspective as the company allows me to grow in a completely different direction and write about those things relative to health. This is exciting for me as I have been writing The Road Less Traveled for over a decade now and have touched on, what I consider anyway, virtually every subject relative to Pattaya.
Everything from boy meets girl to even the subject of pets has been covered extensively and frankly, I was simply running out of things to say. Now with our new column, which will be called, Here's To Your Health, I will touch on a variety of subjects relative to health and perhaps even different aspects of Philosophy and Martial Arts. Exciting! I do want to state right here from the onset that in no way would I ever consider myself an expert in any one of these subjects but rather feel we are all brothers and sisters on this same Road Less Traveled and my research and interviews will allow us both to explore these subjects as equals. In a way I will miss T.R.L.T. but know that like all things in life change is inevitable.
Next month, I look forward to writing a bit on the benefits of Detox and Fasting. It has occurred to me that the "dying young, dying pretty" lifestyle several people I have met share as a Philosophy, can be modified or replaced with the Philosophy of living life to it’s fullest in health and love for a lot longer and besides the hospitals, funeral centres and crematoriums have enough business these days anyway. I believe that the column Here's To Your Health can be broad enough to allow virtually all subjects relative to health, fitness, adventure to be explored and really could be looked at as an offspring of The Road Less Traveled column I wrote and you read for so many years.
Here's to all of you, my best wishes for a great new year filled with adventure and experience. And Here’s to your Health.
